Residential interior design
Interior Design in the Cotswolds
Kings Interiors creates bespoke residential interiors in the Cotswolds for country houses, period residences and substantial rural homes. Our commissions encompass comprehensive renovations and complete furnishing schemes, with particular attention to architectural character, natural materials and specialist craftsmanship.
We bring together bespoke joinery, individually selected furniture and finely layered textiles, incorporating antiques, artwork and personal collections. Each interior is developed to complement the property, balancing its established character with refined contemporary comfort.

A sense of belonging
Rooted in the house. Refined in the detail.
A Cotswolds property has an identity shaped by its architecture and setting. Stonework, timber, fireplaces and the proportions of the original rooms provide a starting point for the interior, informing the introduction of new finishes, cabinetry and furnishings.
Our approach preserves that individuality while establishing a coherent scheme throughout the residence. Materials are chosen for their texture and patina, with furniture and lighting selected to complement both generous reception rooms and more intimate spaces.
The layers of a home
Natural materials. Beautifully composed.
Timber, stone, woven fabrics and tailored upholstery create a rich material palette. We consider their texture, colour and finish together, introducing pattern and contrast where they enhance the room. Bespoke pieces sit alongside antiques and collected objects, giving the interior depth and a sense of continuity.
Material selection and imagery from our wider portfolio; the bedroom shown is in Enborne, West Berkshire.
A considered approach
Character is found in the details.
For established homes
Original features inform the design, from the scale of fitted cabinetry to the placement of furniture and lighting. We consider proposed changes in relation to the existing house, developing interiors that accommodate contemporary requirements while respecting its architectural character.
For homes taking shape
Early interior design establishes the detail and individuality of a new residence. Room layouts, joinery, fireplaces, lighting and finishes are developed alongside the architectural plans, with furnishings and textiles considered from the outset.

Selected work / Enborne, West Berkshire
A countryside residence, carefully finished.
Our Enborne project illustrates the studio’s approach to furnishing a substantial country residence. Furniture, lighting, artwork and textiles were selected across the home, creating a consistent design direction while giving each room its own identity.
The commission included procurement, installation and final styling. Generous furniture arrangements, layered fabrics and carefully selected pieces brought depth and comfort to the completed interiors.
