A new residence
Designed from the outset.
Early appointment allows the interior to inform the wider plans. Furniture layouts, kitchen and bathroom arrangements, lighting positions and joinery requirements can be considered before construction decisions are fixed.
We work with your architectural team to develop interiors that relate naturally to the scale, proportions and character of the new home.
An existing home
A thoughtful transformation.
A substantial renovation offers the opportunity to reconsider how your home functions. We assess the relationship between rooms, the existing features worth retaining and the changes needed to support your daily life.
New finishes, lighting and bespoke elements bring continuity to the property, respecting its character while introducing a fresh direction.
The scope of our work
One vision, developed in detail.
Each commission has an agreed scope. The following disciplines can be brought together as part of your full-service interior design scheme.
Spatial planning
Room layouts, circulation and furniture placement developed around the way you live. We consider the relationships between spaces, storage requirements and the proportions of the principal furnishings.
Interior detailing
Bespoke joinery, cabinetry, panelling and interior finishes designed to give the home a consistent architectural language. Drawings and specifications communicate the proposed details to your project team.
Kitchens & bathrooms
Layouts, cabinetry, surfaces and fittings considered together. We balance practical use with material quality, coordinating the design with the relevant suppliers and specialist trades.
Lighting & materials
Layered lighting schemes and a coordinated palette of finishes. Architectural and decorative lighting work together to support different activities and bring depth and atmosphere to the rooms.
Furniture & textiles
Furniture, rugs, curtains and upholstery selected or commissioned for the scheme. We consider scale, craftsmanship and comfort, incorporating existing pieces where they contribute to the overall direction.
Procurement & completion
Approved furnishings sourced and ordered, with supplier communication and delivery coordination. Installation, artwork and final styling bring the individual selections together into a complete interior.
Working with your project team
Clarity at every stage.
A residential project brings together many disciplines. Our role is to maintain a consistent interior design direction and provide the information needed to carry it through.
We present proposals for your review, develop the agreed selections and liaise with architects, contractors, makers and suppliers within the scope of our appointment.
Design responsibilities, procurement arrangements and the extent of site coordination are established in your proposal, providing a clear framework for the work ahead.
Planning your commission
Before we begin.
A few practical considerations when appointing an interior designer for a new build or renovation.
When should I appoint an interior designer?
Ideally, while your plans are still being developed. Early involvement gives us the opportunity to consider layouts, lighting, joinery and furniture requirements alongside the architectural proposals. If your project is already underway, we can discuss the scope that remains available.
Can you work with my architect and contractor?
Yes. We collaborate with your appointed team, providing interior layouts, drawings and specifications relevant to our agreed scope. The respective roles and coordination arrangements are established at the outset.
Does the service include furnishing the home?
Furniture, decorative lighting, textiles, artwork and styling can be included as part of a complete commission. We agree the extent of furnishing, procurement and installation in your proposal.
How are the scope and fees agreed?
Following an initial discussion and consultation, we prepare a proposal based on your property, requirements and project stage. It sets out the services, fees and responsibilities for your review before work begins.
